Welcome to a FridaysFlats experience
How does DOWNTOWN ROOFTOP sound? Pretty spectacular, doesn't it?
With Urquinaona on one side, and the well preserved Old Town on the other, you can explore the city from the privacy and comfort of your own terrace. Marvel at its puncturing architecture, infiltrated with history, culture and a dash of centuries old mystery. Enjoy the quiet lodgings, as Barcelona sprawls vibrantly at your feet.
This cute and cozy flat is furnished with incredible attention to detail, so that the indoor matches its outside wonders. A comfy bedroom and a pull-out sofa make it ideal for 2 couples, or a single family.
The living and dining area spill into the amazing terrace (the heart of the flat) perfect for sunny breakfasts, candlelit dining or game nights. The flat is equipped with everything it takes to make the ambience a pleasant one in case you decide to eat or hang out on the terrace. The kitchen and bathroom have been renovated quite recently.
Quick, cheap and easily accessible public transport connects you to iconic landmarks and history infused barrios: 10 minutes walking to Born's Passeig de Born or 15 to La Rambla through the Gothic Quarter.
Barceloneta Beach is 25 minutes away on foot, and walking there will take you near Parc de Ciutadella's wonderful monuments, sculptures and palm trees. Gaudi's famous Sagrada Familia is also about 25 minutes away on foot. You'll be as close to the city center as you can be, while still being a short walk away from the beach.
Beautiful, inside and out.
This warmly decorated atico offers 3 guests a bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room for accommodation, plus a fantastic private terrace that displays the city's heart and soul. See the charming old barrios from above, as you bask in the incredible views of Born, Arc de Triomf, Urquinaona or Barri Gotic. Sip a bubbly glass of cold Cava as you gaze towards the sea.
There is an AC unit the bedroom and another one in the living room.
Notes:
First of all, welcome to Barcelona. We're happy to have you and we hope you have an amazing time staying in our flat. That being said, at the risk of being obvious, here are some basic ground rules:
Be mindful
We are not the police, nor do we want you to feel like we are patronizing; but we think it's our duty to point out some common sense stuff, as we've had our experiences with not so well behaved guests in the past.
Respect the neighbours. Put yourself in their shoes, and keep the noise down to a minimum after 10PM. You are on holiday, but they're probably stressed about their jobs and would appreciate a good night's sleep. We want you to have fun, but be reasonable and don't do unto others what you wouldn't like done to you. Pissing them off is only going to get you into trouble, and surely you don't need that while you're on holiday.
No Parties!
We get it, you're excited about being in Barcelona. But remember, the walls are thin and if you're having a party, so are the neighbours. And maybe they're not in the mood for that. Don't start a fight you can't possibly win, it's their city and we want to respect that. Any guest that causes a disturbance will be asked to leave the apartment immediately (no refund at all to be granted). Sorry!
Also, watch out for slamming doors or hallways. Try to be quiet when entering the building, it's not hard to be a good neighbour and we're sure you can do it.
Also, it is not allowed to have more guests than you indicate during your reservation.
Keys & check-out
Don't leave the keys in the mailbox. If you leave earlier than check out time, please leave the keys on the table and pull the door behind you to shut it. Most flats have the type of door that doesn't require you to lock when you leave. That's something to watch out for, as it's very easy to get locked outside (which is also a bummer, take our word for it). Make sure you lock the door with the key every time you leave the flat. That way your belongings stay safer.
Don't smoke inside
NO smoking allowed in the apartment. We care about your lungs, but if you have to do it, please step outside. We'd like to keep the flat from smelling bad when our next guests arrive.
Don't waste energy
We kindly ask you to please turn the lights and air conditioning units OFF whenever you leave the apartment. We care about our planet.
Extra stuff
Additional cleaning, bedding etc can be arranged for a longer stay - but you have to request this while booking.
Tourist tax:
The government of Cataluñya imposes a tourist tax of €6.05 to be paid by every person over 16 per night with a maximum length of 7 days. The tax is a small price to pay in exchange for clean beaches, well-maintained roads, and good facilities.
Arrival
Standard Check-in is from 15:00h to 20:00h. However, we can accommodate late arrivals as well.
Please note the extra charges for late arrivals:
Arrivals after 8PM have to pay €25 in cash to the person making the check in with you.
Arrivals after 12AM have to pay €50 in cash to the person making the check in with you.
These charges are due to late working hours of our staff.
Departure
Check-out time is by 11AM. Arrangements can be made to leave luggage in the apartment until the departure from Barcelona if no other reservations are pending.
Note: if there is no booking for that day, talk to us about arranging a later check-out (if possible).
Lost keys
If you lose a key, there will be a charge of €50 to replace the set.
Kind request
On your last day, please wash the dishes and take out the garbage.
Interaction:
We are here for you 24/7 - it's our job to make sure you have a good time. Therefore, in addition to anything accommodation related, we can help you plan just about any experience you can think of, be it sailing trips, guided tours, off-the-beaten-path voyages.
You can also count on us for any type of transport (limo service, bike rental, scooters, jet-skis, yachts, just about anything short of a rocket, you name it we'll take care of it).
We also offer deals on airport shuttle at convenient prices.
Neighborhood
If you're here for the city
You'll be close to the city center (approx. 10 min walk), where Barcelona's vibrant day & nightlife, with its contagious exuberance, is constantly spilling out onto small streets and cute Plaças packed with cafes, bars and local designer shops. Walk up to see Sagrada Familia, and Gaudi's 2 other famous creations, Casa Milla & Casa Batllo.
Quick and easy access into night-life packed Born and Barri Gotic, but without the hassle of actually staying there. Ciutadella Park, Centre Commercial de Born and the Arc de Triomf are some of the closest landmarks you can observe for free.
Pro Tip: take a stroll through Eixample and observe the beautifully preserved Modernista balconies. Escape rooms abound on the streets near this flat; can you find them?
If you're here for the beach
Barceloneta is the closest beach, and you can practically get there on foot. Great place to sunbathe, exercise, drink or just enjoy romantic sunsets. There are a lot of terraces along the Passeig the Juan de Borbo avenue, but for a real authentic experience, stray off the beaten path. Try one of the tuk-tuks if your legs get tired, and enjoy the views of the long Barcelona coast-line, running for several km, from the W Hotel, through The Olympic Port and onto Parc del Forum.
If you're here for the nature
Parc Guell, Parc de Ciutadella and many other locations such as Montjuic or Tibidabo are easily accessible by metro, bus or taxi. There are many places where you can enjoy the beauty of nature, wild colored flowers or fragrant bushes. Just to visit all the attractions of Montjuic could easily take you a week. Here you can find not one but two wondrous botanical gardens, one of them a cactus reservation that's one of the most picture perfect natural wonders of Barcelona, The Fundacio Miro, The Poble Espanyol, The Theatre Grec, Palau Sant Jordi or explore some of the former Olympic Village attractions.
If you're here for shopping
Shop 'til you drop! Or maybe not that much, but still, find local designers and cute boutique stores in Born and Barri Gotic. Also, in Plaça Catalunya you will find a huge Corte Ingles, and the Portal de L'Angel Avenue, one of Spain's lively shopping streets. Walking up Passeig de Gracia will take you to more and more luxurious stores. Rambla de Catalunya is also great for shopping.
Pro tip: If you walk up Passeig de Sant Juan, you will end up in Gracia, the famous local hipster's neighbourhood.
If you're here for the museums
Rest assured, neighbouring Ciudat Vella, Born and Raval are full of museums, monuments and interesting cultural venues like Museo de la Marina, MACBA (for Contemporary Art) or the Catalan Cultural Center, plus some fun and interesting stuff for kids of all ages: (Big Fun Museum, Museum of Illusions or the Wax Museum). Find the Picasso Museum or the Marina Museum close by. For those with a sweet tooth, try the Chocolate Museum. Then, walk it off on your way to the Barcelona Aquarium
Access
Thanks to its close to the city center location, this flat is easily reachable from the airport by train, metro or shuttle bus (A1 or A2), all through Plaça Catalunya. Take a taxi if you want to enjoy the views..
